2012 is Done…….What’s Next???

Let’s just lay our ecclesiastical cards on the table: After all, what is the point of having a Church, unless its people (you and me) are wholly dedicated to the accomplishment of God’s supreme mission for said church? ………
In our specific case, we are talking about God’s plan for Christ Center! Clearly, the Lord has placed on Christ Center’s leadership, the mission of reaching Sedona for Jesus Christ. We will not rest until we are satisfied that everyone in our town has had at least one opportunity to consider the idea of making Jesus Christ the Lord of their heart and life. So how are we doing with our mission?

Over the last 18 months we have distributed approximately 3,000 New Testaments along with “Roman Road bracelets” to locals and visitors. We still have 2,000 to distribute. Once we are done with the original Bible consignment, we will reorder 10,000 New Testaments.

EVERY MONDAY, this year,

we have had at least one team out on the streets “Engaging Sedona” with the love of God, with prayer, plus Bibles and Bracelets. It is safe to say hundred Sedonian’s have been touched by this ministry.

Also, at the beginning of 2012, we put the 9 acre property the church owns in West Sedona up for sale. We had a couple of false starts, but we are presently in the initial process of the final sale! We hope that the Escrow will begin on January 20th (or there about) with the sale finalized on April 20th, 2013.

With impending proceeds from the sale, the Membership of the Church has already authorized a cash offer on a building strategically located on 89 A. With God’s blessing, we could be in that building by autumn, 2013.

If this actually happens, Christ Center’s visibility in Sedona will instantly increase exponentially. With God’s help, this move would strategically position the Church and greatly amplify the doing of our mission to reach Sedona for the Lord.

In 2012, we have seen the primacy of prayer being elevated to its proper place in ministry. Our Wednesday night prayer meeting has had its moments of glory in the past, but also, the truth be told, its moments of disinterest. Lately, however, we have seen a fresh move of God in our prayer ministry to such a degree, that we plan on having a 72 hour prayer and praise vigil to “Launch Right” into 2013. The vigil starts January 1st and will climax on the evening of January 4th.

I bring these different ministry dynamics to your attention to say that I believe God is strategically setting the stage for an amazing year of ministry in 2013. Are you in?

Sincerely,

Pastor Frank

Big Picture Christmas 2012

From the Desk of Pastor Frank:
I can’t help but be impressed with the speed of “passing time” these days.
When I was a child, a week seemed like a month and a year felt like a lifespan. Back then, the time allotted between Christmases moved like molasses; it felt like a decade waiting for the “big day” (of course, it was nothing but immense kid ecstasy when Christmas finally arrived).
What is up with this feeling of mounting momentum as we age? Job put it this way “my days fly by faster than a weaver’s shuttle.” My sentiments exactly! In my soul, it feels like it was no more than 3 months ago that we “hung the greens for 2011.” Now, you are telling me that it is Christmas 2012. Evidently, things are picking up unrelenting speed and it seems so unfair!

Here is my answer:  Human beings were originally created by God to dwell in the eternal realm with Him, AKA Heaven. Our souls are meant for a bodily existence in eternity, so anything short of eternity feels like a rip-off! Folks pushing their 90’s tell me: “it all went by so quickly, can I get a late check-out?”

Sorry! “It is appointed to all of us to die and then comes judgment.” Jesus, the Son of God, changed that scenario. He “opened the heavens and came down” to earth (Psalm 144:5) about 2,100 years ago to re-establish the human race with their eternal destiny. He made the “Way” for us through His grace filled death and resurrection to gain eternal life with God in Heaven; this “Way” He made is now offered to all who would believe.

Praying God’s Mighty Hand of Blessing on you and your family this Christmas Season!
Sincerely,
Pastor Frank
